J8Cs are what I used to run. No Bosch Plugs for the F-head IIRC.

And if you do need plugs for the lawnmower, the J8Cs will probably fit. :D

The saga continues for my F-134!!!

I replaced the plugs with Champion J8C's today and #2 and #3 will not fire. I also got new plug wires. I switched the plugs around and no change. So I tested the wires on another car and they worked fine.

All my problems seemed to start after driving the Jeep on its longest journey thus far (about 20 miles). I monitored the engine temps the whole trip. Never got above 195 degrees. So I pull the oil dipstick. My heart sank. White foam all over. I pulled the valve cover to see the extent of the damage. There was half an inch of this stuff clinging to the inside of the valve cover.

I know some of you have had to replace a head gasket before. How difficult is this with the engine in the Jeep? It doesn't look too bad. I will have the head checked for warpage and cracks at a local machine shop. Anything special I need to tell them? Do you think my FLAPS will have this gasket or will I be placing an order?

When I assembled the engine, I did have to remove the head after its initial installation to double check on the orientation of one of the rods. I'm wondering if I damaged the gasket by removing it after it was torqued down. I need a BIG HAMMER to put this thing out of my misery!!

If you have any suggestions, I'm listening.

Thanks for letting my cry on your shoulders.

That's probably the problem with the water. Head gaskets are a one time only deal, not to be reused. It's not that difficult to replace with the engine in. :hurrican:
