    I have a Prestolite in right now and am looking to install the pertronix ignition and was just wondering if I have any junkyard options for a delco to save some $$.

    Why not just put an HEI in?

    Isnt there a bit of a price difference and ease of install? Working on a budget and limited work space and tools.

    Dunno, seems to me if you're going to go to the effort to buy a Delco distributor AND Pertronix the price difference isn't that great. I just shipped an HEI off for $57 to another member here. That included shipping.

    Not as easy to install since it won't "drop right in" without some grinding. Just asking. Not that I have anything against the Pertronix but just seems like the HEI is easier to get parts for as Lynn indicates in OT today.

    I'd just do the Delco and the Pertonix if it were me
    less hassle and parts cost......

    {oh, that's what I did do after my HEI experiment failed.....}

    Pertronix is at least $75 plus a new distributor. That's less than $57?

    Maybe less hassle but not cost from where I'm sittin. Having done the HEI swap it's not that bad anyway.

    If it's beyond what Tyler's comfortable with to do the HEI then go with the Pertronix route. I was just asking.

    I have looked at the petronix as well, decided to go H.E.I, Sparky is sending my way, I have the delco distributor and if all goes well woth the H.E.I I will sell out the old distributor, the H.E.I is on its way as we speak, so let me know what you think, im sure we can work out a price, but at 75 smackers for a petronix, and a few bucks for the delco, you are at the price of that reman H.E.I that Chuck is talking about. there is some really good info here on the H.E.I, and where to grind...... a few hours and you would be off and runnin with the H.E.I..

    but let me know if you wnat the Delco that I have, it will be avaliable soon....
