This may be a dumb question, but I've noticed for a while now that when I let the clutch pedal up from the floor about an inch or two, I can hear the clutch start to engage. But it isn't engaging enough to move the Jeep and doesn't fully engage or catch normally enough to move the Jeep until the pedal is almost all the way out. So, about half of the pedal's stroke or so is this "minor" slippage. I've adjusted it according to the FSM method for use with a cable. The clutch has about 12,000 miles on it. This isn't normal is it?

You say you hear the clutch engage, I assume you're hearing the t/o bearing. Don't those V6 cables stretch or something? Maybe that's the problem.

I was thinking Throw out Bearing, I had a similar issue with mine, I replaced the bearing disk, pressureplate and had the flywheel re-surfaced, did you replace the bearing when you did the clutch? you say you can hear the clutch, but you can not feel it even slightly engaging? could be the throw out bearing you are hearing, also might want to replace the cable or do the conversion to get away from the cable and go to the chain, someone will chime in on the conversion that is on my list to do.........

Yeah I put a new throw-out bearing in when I did the clutch. It might be the t/o bearing that I'm hearing, but it still seems as though I can barely hear the disc start to catch.

The cable must have stretched some because it did have some play in it, but that went away with the adjustment. I'm going to have to go drive it this morning again to see what's going on.

    Thanks for the replies.
