Please help me find a source for exhaust headers for a Dauntless 225 V6 odd fire in a 1968 Commando.

OK, I finally read your WHOLE post...

    ...for a 1968 Commando...

I don't know if the headers I mentioned will work with the Commando tub.
    Anyone else know?

Should work fine. The commando front clip dimmensionally is the same as a CJ5. I've run the fenderwell headers on my commando framed CJ, so the frame is no issue.

yup, what chuck said. I've taken off one to use on another.
Chuck. I like your Hillbilly headers. How they work?

They have a unique sound to them, but fairly loud going through a pair of Flowmaster Delta Flows

Are Hedmans considered upper end or middle of the road headers- as far as quality? Thick flange? Thick pipe wall?

J.C Whitney says Pacesetters are same thickness flange as stock. Wouldn't I rather have something thicker?

I'm on my 2nd set of pacesetters, not because the flanges broke, but because they rusted out where the pipes come together (the collector). The stock paint/coating burned off in about 30 minutes. When these are done, I'm going back to stock manifolds.

    IMHO, don't buy the pacesetters.

  13. Bob Supplee sells Headmans for about $105 or so.

Not meaning to highjack the thread, but since I think harrybar has the info he was after, I'll continue..

I have available for use either stock exhaust manifolds or some thin wall headers that have been repaired (welded by me). Not sure which I'm going to use for now, but ultimately want some quality headers that will last. I'm thinking there's a wide range in quality so I'm asking for opinions on different brands.
