Yeah, he's jazzed about this project with all the tools he gets to (learn to) use. Just wait until he sees my latest tool... the welder!!

Right now it's propped in a corner waiting it's turn. The tub/ frame separation went well, (but tedious!) with both needing some work, but not too bad. The biggest thing for the tub will be the floor replacement (naturally) and possibly the tailgate which requires some work. The frame is intact, very usable and will be retained. I'm at a standstill right now until my welder gets here in the next week or so, and then it's practice, practice until I'm satisfied and ready to hit it... Still working out details for the mod ideas!! Standby for questions...

I justified buying a welder for the exact same project...

Gonna do a repro floor or just sheet metal? The repro looks nice but if I did it again I might consider just flat sheet metal or diamond tread.

What are end panels running these days? I replaced that on the tailgate as well - figured it was pretty visible so was worth the $$ ($70?) at the time.

I'm going repro, just like the look. Floors are $190 plus shipping and the tailgates are the same:rofl: . Pricey for sure, but I want USA steel... As for the welder, this was just the excuse I needed but there are other projects I want to do as well...
