    HI
HAs anyone got drawings/plans for the front seats on hinges for an early M/CJ and fuel tank. I intend to fabricate some seats and increase the fule capacity from 10 to 20 gallons, which I think was standard on military vehicles.

Mark, I've got some semi-sort-of dimensioned pics showing the two types of seats/mounts used on ECJ5s on my web page, if you need more details don't be afraid to ask :).

The military gas tank gets it's extra volume by sticking an enlarged section down through a hole in the floor. On CJs this area has a plate spot welded in, obviously you'll have to cut it out to make the miliary tank fit. You'll also have fun with different fuel pickup arraingements & different sized filler tubes.

If cutting up some frame pieces doesn't bother you you might want to consider placing a second tank under the back floor as has been the practice since the intermediate days.

    Have Fun,

    H.

Mark, those squares in the pictures are a 1" grid (You remember "Inches", Right?). I purposely took the photos far enough away the parallax shouldn't be a problem. I can get you more accurate dimensions if you need them but it will take a few days.

I see what you mean over here inches are a distant memory, if you could get accurate measurements this would be a great great help :) as I don't want to mess up the material I have obtained, if you want my email to send them direct PM me and I will send it.

    Many thanks

Mark, I've got the dimensions for the seat frames but there is just no way I'm going to have time to do up decent (or even indecent) drawings as you requested.

    Sorry 'bout That :(.

I don't believe that most of the dimensions are that critical, perhaps the hole spacing on the for the front mounting points but that should be about it-

Tell you what, have another look at the pics on my web site. All the measurments I made seem to be exact inch multiples, some + 1/2" & that corresponds with what the photos show. If you have questions/concerns on specfic measurments I'll try to answer them.
