Spring over? or New Leaf springs?

I have a 68 cj5 and love it. But my current 33 inch tires rub when the suspension is flexed. My question is, should I do a spring over conversion or get a lift. I put new OEM leafs on it a year ago and I have 1" longer than stock shackles on it now. I am on a tight budget and I was wondering if its worth saving for a lift or just do a spring over?

    Any input would be great.
    thanks - The lilred68

lift is cheaper and less work. about 2.5" is enough. 'could' sell old springs to recoup $$$.

New lift gets my vote as well. Try a search, we just discussed this ad nausem recently. The pros and cons (mostly cons) of SOA. Last week maybe?

Thanks guys. I think Ill do the lift. . . Now I guess I just need to decide which lift to get. I found a 2 1/2" Rough Country for $375.00 and I think that lift has the dubble wraped springs. Are there better ones?

I don't know about Rough Country, but I have Pro Comp springs on one Jeep and Rancho on another and they both seem to be about the same quality.

I have the Rough Country. Add in the cost of new U-bolts since the ones they gave me did not fit.

check out Holbrook long leafs if you want a lift, improved flex and ride. I've been very happy with a set on my flatfender.

what size tires are you running with the holbrook springs? Do you have any pics of it flexed? I've been looking at getting a set, just trying to figure out if they are worth all the $$$$.

Holbrooks are worth every penny. The ones on the red rig (above) have 31" tires on... I had 33's, but just don't run them that big.

The install took me 1/2 a day - including welding time to finish after a test drive. My flex is only limited by my brake hose and shocks.

Ya - but that's 'cause I don't have the right shocks and hoses on yet  . It does OK on the street, my budget got whacked by medical bills (along with the steel for the cage and my heater) so I can not go play in the snow this year. It should be good as I have the measurements somewhere for some RS9000's.

This summer I had some RS5000's on it (but I sold them) and it did real well.
