    Re: Parking brake question

Hey, My 1970 CJ5 doesn't have a parking break. Is that normal? I've been wondering about it for a few months.

Stock it would have a drum brake right behind the transfer case before the rear driveshaft.

My '56 has the complete drum assembly on the transfer case, but it was never equipped with the brake handle and cable parts. I haven't taken the drum assy. apart yet, but AFAIK it doesn't seem to have any wear at all.
