can anyone scan me some pages out of their manual, giving instructions on how to disassemble/reassemble the fuel pump on a 1955 CJ5 134? funds are low, and i would really like to hear it run before i dump money into it. THANKS IN ADVANCE, JOSH:oops:

    Re: manual fuel pump help

Josh I have a manual, and I got this one from the net. I looked on the net and its not available anymore. Its a pdf file and I have no way of making a single page copy. It is a 34meg dowload if I emailed it to you.
Even with DSL it would take a long while to send and recieve.
Josh you could stream a little gas down the carb to see if it runs, if it will fire, hook up a gravity feed unit out of a bottle. Then get a manual for the Jeep, not a Chiltons but a for real factory service manual. I'm sorry I can't help more but I can't get my adobe reader to copy the text right to send it to you.

i really apreicate you trying anyway, i was thinking about a bottle feed anyways, as far as the manual fuel pump, is there a diafram, or how does it pump? i think i herd that there is little "shims" of brass filters mashed togeather in the glass bowl. i just dont want to bugger the mother up and have to fork out dough, to replace it, you understand:)
does it just unbolt as a whole unit, or is there a push rod to watch out for? is it complicated, or is there alot of gaskets to replace if bad. thanks josh:twisted:

It does pump with a diaphram like most pumps. There are small screens in the bowl, they are probably brass considering the age that the pump was designed. I hope this picture helps, after about 5 times I got the adobe to work. You should be able to open it with MSword
