Does anyone know where I can get a stock size fuel filter for my 70 cj5:v6: ? The only ones I have been able to find are too small for the bracket. The one I have is an AC and its probably very old.
    Thanks!

Andy, I think that the little bracket you are referring to is sort of generic as I have never seen a fuel filter that even came close to fitting that thing and I bought my Jeep back in 92. To be truthfully honest I would remove the bracket and put your fuel filter higher up out of the way, mine had a tendency to be hard starting in the summer time when I drove it say 5 miles to a store, ran in and came back out. The bracket and the fuel filter location seemed to be the problem, to close to the block and would start to vapor lock. My filter is now about 6" higher up and farther from the block, no problems since then.

I personally prefer the generic clear plastic filters. Easy to see when it's time to change it.

Consider getting a clear filter like mpc mentioned, ensuring the same hose-fit size. Seeing the fuel in the filter is very cool, and will help eliminate potential/future starting issues.

I may get one of the clear ones. It seems like a lot of people use those. Thanks for the help!
