cheep radio

Has any one installed a newer radio in their 72 cj-5? I have found that they wont fit in the dash. If someone has and ideas i would appriciate any input. As of now I am thinking about putting it overhead. Thanks in advance for the input Jim.

 

I know that years ago I used to get catalogs from Crutchfields, and they had an application list where you could look up your vehicle and it told what stereos would fit. Might ask at your local car stereo joint, they should be able to tell you what'll work, I'd think.

 

I've seen them mounted in the 'between-the-seats' console. Maybe you could do that...

 

THanks for that reminder, Dennis! My 75 never had a radio and I've been thinking of all the different options I have for getting some tunes in there.

 

I have mine installed in a amunition can.

 

I finnished installing last night I put it overhead out of the way as soon as I figure out how to post pics I will post them. Thanks for all the ideas guys.

 

Hey 73CJ, does your CD player work at that angle. I have always heard not to mount them in that fashion???
