Anybody have any ideas of where to find, or a good replacement for, the cloth strip on top of the grill that the hood rests on. Wanna keep it original, but good shade tree ideas are ok, too.

I used some Insulation Tape that is designed for door seals and so far is working pretty good. It is about 3/4" and in cross section it looks like the letter B. Best thing about it is it only ran me $1.50 :)

What about the clips to hold it in place? Good source for those?

My local Jeep place deals with the "older" stuff and had the cloth strip as well as the brass "rivets" to hold it in place. However, the rivets were a pain in the butt and didn't fit too well. Must be a special tool to spread the legs. Anyway, I ended up using pop rivets instead and it worked like a charm.

Here's their info if you need it.

Walck's has the kit. It costs $7.95. It comes with the welt strip and rivets (clips) to insert and hold it down. The clips are not too bad to install. I used a pair of 90 degree needle nose pliers and bent one leg over at a time.

Perfect! the pic from Herms looks like the stuff. My front clip is from a 70 and has rivets, but, my first 68 had wire clips.
    Thanks fellas!
