I have a motorcraft 2100 that I can't seem to get the choke to work correctly. I have loosened the adjusting bolt on the back of the diaphram and now this morning I started High5 and the choke was already open and it was slow idling. Lately, it's been idling high all the time and now it's not so I guess that's a plus.

Should I just scrap the automatic choke and put a manual on???

Help, I know next to nothing about carbs. There's nothing and then I'm right next to it:rofl:

Tell me about it. I am in the middle of a carb nightmare with my carter YF on my 74. Mine won't stop high idling. Did you try loosening the choke cover screws and adjusting the tension on the choke spring? The choke spring is inside that round black thing that attached to the side of the carb. You can turn it clockwise or CC.

Well, looks like we're all in the same boat, Mine started loading up and dieing. Turns out my elec choke quit working also (still not working). Adjusted the choke so it is open all the time. Starts right up, but a little rough until it warms up.
