'70 Hardtop on '74 CJ5

    Someone is interested in buying my hardtop that I had on my '70 CJ5. He has a '74 CJ5. Will it fit without modification? I seem to recall that it didn't but not why.

    I believe that tops are interchangeable 1955-1975.
    Some may have more tired cowl rubber than others and may need some adjustment...

    As long as he has not changed the windshield to a '76 or later style, it will fit. The original windshield has the motor on the outside, and '76 and later is on the inside.

    Just had a conversation in another thread here recently about windshields.

    They were the same from sometime in 1969-1975.

    Tub makes no difference. Linus has a '76 and later top and WS on it.
