This is for my waggie front end. The original seals didnt have a real lip, and the new ones are no differnt. But there is a second lip on the inside that is stepped down from the edge. The arrow in the pic is pointing to it. Well i am going to try adn seat the seal with this lip. Problem is i already tried it on one seal and mangled it, but then again, i first tried to tap it in. I have a socket that fits just inside the seal and fits on the inner lip. Well i believe i tapped it in cockeyed first. I did this with a little hammer on the socket. But then went and had a steel square rod that fit the socket hole perfectly. So when i was hitting it with the rod going throguh the housing, i dimpled the inner rim by tapping it in badly.

Well it is time for the second seal. My question is should i be using this second lip or is this a bad thing? The wat the seal goes in, i cant get onto the outer lip. Any suggestions? I am going to get a buddy to help me for the second seal.

Your gonna have fun trying to tap it in... I mangled my 1st one in my YJ's D30... I ended up doing what most do..... Pulled it in ..make a washer or if your socket fits down in to that wide area on the seal... you want it real close fit... then use threaded rod and nut along with a plate with a hole that the threaded rod can fit thru on the outside of knuckle with another nut.. then start tightening and it will pull the seal into place...much more control of what the seal is doing and you won't mangle it...

Good luck , best if you have help , that way one person can turn the nut on the outside and one can watch the seal to make sure it doesn't start to cock too much..
