Whats not working? I took the controls apart and cleaned them up a bit and replaced the vaccum hoses. Took the fan switch apart too and cleaned it up. Everything seems to work OK. I didn't need to do anything any of the plenium (sp?) parts, fortunatley.

I'm betting that the vacuum switch is dry rotted- This is where my question spouts forth.

I brought one back to life and I'm going to try a second one I have thats in worse shape for my 62. Just carefully took everything apart and lightly sanded the surface rust off all the parts and put them back together. Never did anything to the vacuum switch, but I did have to play with the blower switch. Had to use 2 switchs to make one. Got new springs at the hardware(stainless steel) and it works good.

Hardest part was figuring out from scratch where the 3 vacuum hoses went to make things work.

i'm looking at my heater controls also. The previous owner had nothing hooked up, so i have no vacuum lines running to it. of the 3 lines, i figure one is for a vacuum source coming from the engine, one works the door in the pluenum for the defroster, and one works the door for the heat. thats just a guess. I haven't really looked at it closely. it can't be too hard to figure out, but does anyone have a diagram showing whats what?

Are we talking about the control head or the vacuum motors on the plenum? You know the UFOs.

    Hey Mark,

If you run into any trouble, I've had very good luck bringing these vacuum heater controls back to life. If in a pinch, I'd be happy to rebuild yours. The 3-position switch is critical to have intact, tho, but it's not the end of the world if not. Lemme know if'n I can help.

The heater controls on the plenium, aka the "UFOs", or the vacuum motors which divert air via activation of those devices, well.... I doubt anyone knows of an aftermarket source for those. Again, not the end 'o the world if not. ;)

There was a post not too long ago about the 'UFOs'. I can't recall, but someone came up with a source for a replacement with 'minor modification'.
