Now that I've converted my cj5 to saginaw steering, the stock plow frame will not fit. I was planning on building my own frame, but i just ran across a local ad for a 1970 jeepster for sale and it is cheap. It comes with a plow setup. so i'm most concerned about the front end frame similarities between the 1970 jeepster (which had saginaw steering stock) and the 55-71 cj5. will the undercarriage and plow frame from the 70 jeepster fit my cj5? i hope to look at the jeepster this weekend and take some measurements, but i wanted to run it by the people here first. thanks guys.

Jeepster is alot longer than the cj5. that is the main difference, then you would have to make new mounts for the body and stretch the body or shorten the frame. easier to make a plow mount

I think the front frame is almost identical between the Jeepster and the CJ (very small differences, like width of the spring mounts). As you probably know, the Jeepster frame is essentially a CJ-6 with some mods, like outboarded rear springs and the steering. All of the length difference is in the center, straight part of the frame. I think the Heapster Saginaw bracket slides into the frame in the same location as most CJ Saginaw conversion brackets are mounted. So, there's a pretty good chance that if the plow will fit on a Jeepster with Saginaw steering, that it will fit on a CJ that's been converted to Saginaw. Of course, the CJ mounting is custom, so there could be enough difference that it still wouldn't fit. The only way to be sure is to measure.
