56 Willys CJ5 Advice

    I recently was given a 56 Willys that runs good. I took it to my auto body guy to have him repair and paint and he said the body was too far gone to repair. I started to look for a new body, but seems to be so many places and alot of difference in quality. Can anyone make a suggestion on where to purchase a new or used tub? I know nothing about motors or auto body, but love the older jeeps/willys and would like to have someone else restore this one so I can give to my dad. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Tubs have had alot of discussion here in the forums...I'd suggest hitting the search engine a bit..;)

    IMHO the upshot of all the talk is the best way is to have patience and watch for a used one in good or restorable shape. There are also sources for repair panels that your body man may not know about.

    The new tubs are Phillipine-made, and quality varies greatly.
