I've starting looking for parts for my '66 CJ-5 and I'm running into a little confusion. When it comes to chassis and steering & supension parts, it seems parts are only available for 4 cyl. applications. What will and will not interchange with my dauntless equipped Jeep? Obviously, I need to retain the 10 leaf front springs, but are things like steering linkages and tie-rod ends really that different between the two engines? Any help is much appreciated.:v6:

Chassis and suspension will all be the same. Most of the steering stuff will be the same, with the exception of the Ross box. The 4cyl uses a smaller sector shaft than the V6 version. A rebuild kit for a 4cyl will not fit a V6. And the V6 kits are hard to find.

Any sources for the V6 steering box kit? I want to keep it original.

Not if you piece it together. I've collected up all the parts except the steering shaft and one more steering u-joint for much less than that. The biggest expense is the exhaust work that you'll have to get when you're finished.

Thanks guys, I greatly appreciate all the support. I'll get some pics going of my '66 as soon as it's presentable.
