Will a tub off a '78 cj5 fit my '66. If the lenght and width are the same I can make any other mods to mount it correct? I know the overall length of the '66 is shorter but that is because of the shorter frontend right? There is a good deal going on one on EBay, Thats why I'm asking.

Yes if you have lots of time, patience and money.

    Otherwise if you're practical. No.

    Too many differences.

If the differences your talking about are like hanging pedals and gas tank locations I planned on going to the newer style anyway. What other differences are their that I'm overlooking. I would us my dash and I would like to do a sag steering soon. Maybe sooner than later.

Floors are different too. No toolbox. Seat mounts are different. Dash is different. Windshield latches are different. Firewall is different. Tailgate and cowl lettering is different. I believe about all that's the same are the rear fenderwells, exterior panels and the overall dimensions. To make it work, I'd guess it's about the same amount of work as putting in all new floors and hat channels.

I didn't know about the body mounts, that would make a big difference because its a fiberglass tub and the reinforcements would be in the wrong place unless I moved the mounts. Thanks guys!!
