Who has made a custom Alternator bracket

    I dont have the original bracket on my V6. I used a piece of all thread rod, made a spacer and the alternator rides on that. For the top arm, i used a regular cheapie alternator arm from the auto parts store. I am wanting something that is a bit sturdier. What have you guys done for a custom alternator bracket? I was considering usuand a rods with heim joint ends to connect the top arm part, but just dont like montuing it to the top of the water pump.

    i dunno..i have original brakcets..plus an extra set on my buick 350.
    i can make pics and take measurements for you if you like. with and without a/c or power steering.

    Please take some pics. If you have any that is on the motor, i want to see how it is mounted to the motor and how it is braced. The aluminum ones really like o break, gonna have to make a steel one :)

    k..i am like 95% sure that the 350 is the same so i will take a pic of an assembled one (350) and a disassembled one (231).
    ill go buy a disposable camera and send it to you for developing..
