help with brakes

well,crap i got my new brakes out tonightand sure enough they fit the front but not the back.so i put them on the front even though i didnt need them.whats the deal with them ecentrics how do i set them right.do i need to manually adjust them? what about those back brakes they aint got no eccentrics how do they adjust? where do i get rear shoes? thinkin about takeing the old front shoes apart and re-riviting the m to the back ???? yea my wife put me on a low budget!!!! ,jared

 

err... uhh. i've seen four different setups on the cj's. one with the eccentrics on the lower part, one with the eccentrics in the middle, the star adjustments, and the automatic star adjustments. with the eccentrics just turn them until they engage like you want...the eccentrics will move the shoes in and out. the star adjustments are basically the same, the star will move the shoes in and out instead of the eccentrics. all of them need to be readjusted from time o time except the self adjusting stars. you can tell if ou have the self adjusters if there's a "shoe" shapd peice on top of the star attached to the shoes with linkages.

i know i mayhave explained some things vaiguely, but some picture would really help...
