I like the look, but the function just wasn't there. It rattled. It was top heavy. It held gas fumes. I'm sure with enough work, all those things could have been corrected, but I didn't want to go to all that trouble.

I had a military "arctic" hardtop on my last CJ-2 and I hated it. Yes it was warm & comfy in the winter, but it rattled like crazy, and ventilation was non-existant. The windows in the doors were sliders, and the open portion wasn't big enough to even put your elbow on the sill. I ended up pulling it off and putting a tigertop on it.

Seems like hardtops are a lot like plows and axle housings. If you come across someone who wants it, you can usually make a few bucks by selling them, otherwise they are bulky and take up a LOT of space to store. You can usually go a LOOONG time trying to sell either one.

I goofed and sold a fiberglass top for an Early 5.

Never shoulda done that. Got it for free even. That would've been a nice hard top to have.

I've got 3 different hard tops and a soft top. Up till yesterday, I didn't really like the way my tigertop sealed on the doors. Couldn't get them to sit tight to the body. Untill I found out I had the window channels on the outsides instead of the inside:rofl: But it fits really good on Wimpy now. :D

I have a Kelly, & Meyer hard top and a Meyer half top. I will not put the kelly top on either jeep again untill I get the body fixed SOLID. Thats one HEAVY top. But it looks soo cool on Wimpy8) I had it on Achiles last year with the fiberglass body and it lead to the decline of the floors on the tub. Thats why I'm puting the half top on Achilles this year. Hoping the lighter wieght top will not push the floors more out of wack than they allready are. Plus I insulated it with a headliner material.

I have two of the same tops, they are for an early CJ5. One has been trimmed in the front above the windshield for 72-76 style windshield, and the other for 66-71. They are both steel with steel doors that have roll up windows. They are located in Stockton, Ca. Thank You.

I wish you were a little closer. Shipping would probley be more than the tops.
