I have a set of dimple dies for the holes. They came as a set of 4 sizes .5", 1", 1.5" and 2". I drill the holes with a hole saw, then after the hole is deburred and smoothed, the sheet metal is sandwiched in the the dies and the dimple is formed in a 12 ton shop press. I use assembly lube on the dies to help ease the forming process. I picked up my set of dies at Kartek. They are a little pricey, but I use them so much, I'd consider them worth it, plus you can make rigid fabrications with thinner steel so you can save on materials cost in the long run. If you are in the market for a set, make sure you find one that are properly hardened. My set has a .125" mild steel capacity, some sets out there are only rated for up to 16 or 18 gauge steel.

NONSENSE! I would love to see it. We can all stand to learn something new from someone else. You should never be afraid to be proud of something that you worked hard for and put your heart into. I look forward to the pics and knowledge that you guys post on this site, I wouldn't visit it if it was just my junk!

Unfortunately no. Between school and work, and being arms deep in a rebuild of the L-head for the old girl, I haven't had the time, but perhaps I will be able to do it over the Thanksgiving holiday...
