350 swap into early 5 frame ?

    My 71 Dauntless is worn out so I picked up a 350 cheap , what is involved with this swap ? I was wondering if my original motor mount towers will work . I am running a sm 420 trans .

    A 350 what, Chevy, Buick, Pontiac or Olds?
    A 350 Buick is basically a bolt in, the others will require new motor mounts and various other minor mods. The sm420 can be put behind any of these engines fairly easy, you'll just need an adapter for the transfer case. the drawback to a 350 Chevy is the rear mounted distributor and fire wall clearance, there are several members with them in it though and they can chime in and tell you how they did it. The Bucik uses the same moutns and everything, the radiator will need to be moved forward though.
