    Hi Guys,

    I know my fuel gauge is shot on the '78 CJ5. It is the standard SW guage. My '79 CJ7, however, is strange. Instead of the 3 terms on the back of the fuel guage, it has 2. Also, the gauges look as tho they are porcelean(sp) in nature. Has anyone seen these and can you tell me what I should look for in resistance readings? Gas reads half at empty.

    Thanks.

    the gauges should be the same from 1976 and later on the CJs.
    PO must have changed/swapped something else is my best guess
    fuel gauge should have 3 terminals.
    try these readings:

    Empty=73 ohms
    half= 23 "
    full = 10 "

    Jim,

    Do you know what guages were used that would be porcelain and have only 2 terminals? Sounds kinda weird to me.
