    Thanks Jim,
I am trying to gigure out my cable routing. i remember when i first installed the cable i had to loop it very tight to have it get to the carb linkage. The second time i got universal kit and cut it real short so it reached from firewall to holding bracket on the carb, then that didnt workout i got another one and have a big ugly loop behind the motor. And now i busted off that plastic piece that holds to the pedal so i have to get another one so i want to clean this area up. I am wondering if i have to loop around the motor and come from the front, or some other way. With the V6 it is very tight to get a clean routing. and the original V6 used that solid link linkage. Its driving me nuts

you don't really have to replace the cable. i had the same thing happen while on a trip to ny several years ago. i used vise grips to get me home. now i've got a cable lock cylinder instead. works great - and no cable replacement.

i'll try to get a picture of it for you.

also, it can usually be found at the hardware store, if you still have one of those left in your area (as opposed to the home dumpo/lowe [quality]/etc.). look in the small parts section of home hardware/misc.

Motorcycle shop should have cable making parts too, maybe even a bike shop.
