Fuel tanks

    Who has a good and INEXPENSIVE source for replacement fuel tanks? I'd prefer plastic but don't like the prices I've been seeing. Also what holds down the tank under the seat of an early cj5? Is it a strap or just my butt?

    Haven't seen any low-priced plastic ones. I bought a new steel tank for my '56 from Walck's 4WD for $95. There's a single steel strap that holds 'em down. http://www.walcks4wd.com/ (call, don't email or order online)

    I don't know what you classify as inexpensive but I was thrilled with MTS tanks. You can see what I wrote about them in the Buyer Comments section.

    There's a strap that holds it in place.

    MTS here, I spent the little bit of extra money so I would feel a little safer about the underseat tank in mine.

    i just pulled mine in favor of an under body tank.

    don't know where you are located but it may be for sale. have the strap, cap and sending unit. all pieces are about 3 yrs old.

    i got mine from jcw iirc, and it was around $90.

    lafester, I live in Florida and am interested in yours. Is it plastic and does it include the strap, sender etc? thanks.
