Can somebody please tell me (or show a picture) how the tank strap on a M38A1 looks. How wide and thick is the metal?

Another question: When I replaced the floors I found two holes (I suppose it is for draining) on each side of the front floors (on the side in front of the tank and toolbox). Did these holes have some kind of a cover or were they left open?

    Thank you

While I took this picture for the mirror, you can see part of the tank strap below the seat:

    Thanks fellas,
Where do you bolt that draining plug, under the floor or inside?

I did not cut new holes into my floor. Do you think it is neccesary?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help.

Those drain hole covers (butterfly) go on the inside of the cab.

Mine had the drivers side eliminated (somebody replaced part of the floor pan). The passengers side one is still in place. It was screwed in from up above.

Shouldn't hurt anything to omit them completely...unless you spend a lot of time hanging out with those anal-retentive MVPA parade queen types.

I wouldn't be to concerned unless I was seeking origionality. If I needed drain holes I might look at later model plastic ones.
