I bought the adjustable Vacumn and the weight kit for my HEI on my 225.
I downloaded the guys deal on tuning the HEI but it really seems to run just fine with the stock weights and the vacumn plugged.
Is it worth the hastle of doing all he suggests.

I'd run a vacume line from the carb or manifold...that will give you more umph than going through the hassel of changing the wt's ect. With a 225 I doubt you would notice the increase in horsepower unless you had it all pumped up.

the stock weights are supposidly thebest to keep for the HEI. the oter weights are lighter and that means the torque chagnes to goto the higher RPMs. But sometimes you dont know if the springs in the HEI are not stock and maybe swapped in before the rebuilder gets it. If it runs fine with the old springs i would keep it like that.

I've run my HEI for years with the stock weights and no vacuum line. Runs pretty good. I'm not sure the vacuum advance will get you much power, but I think you could get better gas mileage.
