    Herm sent me new Balls and Springs for the Detents on my transfer case. How do you get the old balls out?

    Thanks for all the info. I didn't phase my question very well.
    I want to get the balls out with the TC in the jeep.
    Would grease on the end of a stick work? Probably mostly needs the new springs the most. When I flat tow I want to make sure it stays in nuetral.

    I've got grease would have to buy a magnent. Hey, I think I've got one of those magnatised screwed drivers.

    I bought a thin magnet as described just for getting the balls out. One thing I didn't try was moving the levers fast which should make them pop out. Especially if you don't care if you lose them, no telling where they might roll to.
