In the article on this conversion it says to press or pull the new disc onto the hub with old lugs. On mine the disc fits right on the hub with a very little bit of play. Is that tight enough or is somethine wrong?

as long as it seats properly against the hub, the wheel will hold it tight.
I'm assuming the disc is on the outside of the hub.

You are correct Clay, the rotor bolts up behind the hub. What you need to look for is whether your hubs are machined flat on the back side, or if they have a slight taper to them. I have seen both from the factory, but if yours have the taper you will either have to have them turned on a lathe to make the surface flat, or replace the hubs with ones that are already that way. The replacement hubs from Omix-ADA (sold by all the Jeep parts places) are flat. It is easy to tell what you have to work with, after you separate the hub/drum assemblies you can drop the hub into the disc and you'll see what I mean. If the center of the hub rests on the "hat" of the disc but there is still an air gap around the edge of the hub/disc mating surface, then you have tapered hubs. Make sense?

    new problem with brake conversion

Now my Brakes don't fit, not enough space between rotor and mounting bracket plate, do I need to cut my rotors they are 1 3/16 and the article talks about 1 1/8 rotors. The spindle goes on first then new muonting plate right? If I went the other way I would have the room but I don't think it would seal properly. HELP

It was like a 16th/32nd of an inch the inside pad was hitting the rotor and the caliper would not slide on, so I hit the backing plate with a bfh and everything looks great. Steve I grew up in PGH (Shaler) it's good to see there are still old jeep in them hills.
