The steering box should be marked 76, it needs to have as many turns lock to lock as you can find, 3 1/2-4 1/2 turns, the Camaros and Novas are like 2 3/4 turns, way to fast for ashort wheelbase vehicle. I took mine off of an old Pontiac grand prix or Catalina, usually the bigger the car the better. Trucks won't work unless its an S10. You would also prefer a steering box with the 4 bolt mount rather than the 3 bolt mount.
By the way thats not exactly a cj5 but looks to be an M38A1 military model. Check the serial number on the fire wall. As for the rear axle I would have to look at it as I'm not all that familiar with the military differences.

My Jeep has a 2.5" rancho lift and 31" tires and a narrow track dana 30 front, with the stock pitman arm from the box, whch probably has about 3/4" drop it fits perfect.

If you go to the fabricators forum and look up the saginaw sticky at the top of the forum there are links and alot of photos of other guys setups with descriptions and it may help.
