Tailgate chain covers

Anyone know of a source for covers that fit over the tailgate chains. The origionals were made of the same material as the seats and sewn like a seat cover.

I'm also trying to find a lead on the hold open supports for the rear hatch on my cap. I thought about going with gas struts but I'm trying to stay as origional as possible. For now, the broom handle works it just gets in the way some times.

 

Beachwood Canvas has chain covers. In their catalog on page 58, I see part #2A2350, "tailgate chain covers, canvas", $16.00. These are in OD green canvas, but it says "available in other colors and materials". Might call them at 732-929-3168 about the material you want.

 

Re using hose to cover the chains - be sure to put a hole in the middle of the cover as a drain. Otherwise they will fill with water and your chains will rust. BTDT.

 

I used bike innertubes , 2.25 x26 bike innertube cut to length,fits nicely over the chain, and as posted before don't forget to put a hole in the middle.

I have the hold open supports, chains and covers on my old tub, I can cut them off and give them to you for shipping. I'll get a pic today.
