any place to avoid when ordering a new besttop super top?

winters commin to iowa and i guess i ought to bite the bullet and buy a top. (actually my wife suggested it!)

any place you all recommend to get a supertop for a decent price and is reliable?

more importantly is there anyplace to avoid in addition to those in the buyer's comments forum?

lowest i've found is about $633 plus shipping (~$29) since sales tax in ia ia about 7% it's cheaper to order it.

 

All I can suggest is dig all over the Internet the best you can for vendors that sell them. Make a list of who has them, and what their price is (don't forget shipping!!).

I've been doing a lot of research as to where I can get parts and the prices, and I'm astounded at the range of prices from one vendor to another. I bought an aftermarket steel gas tank from Walck's for $90, and I've seen the same tank w/the same part number elsewhere for $285!!!

I built an Excel spreadsheet to help me track parts, vendors, part numbers and prices, but it's friggin' huge. I'd be happy to pass it along, if Sparky or somebody else knows how to put it on the site somehow so others can download it. It's not finished, but you could do your own research and plug in the numbers.

I recently bought the "top only" no hardware supertop for my CJ7 from 4wdhardware. Not sure if they are the cheapest (probably not) but they got it to me quick, I was on a tight schedule getting ready to leave Ill for Va. They got it to me in 2 days. I was sweating it, but the brown santa showed up!!

wow 590, and it comes with two piece soft doors?! that's definately a steal if it's legit.

 

i was able to get a bestop tiger top with hardware and doors off of ebay for $225 NIB.
