Guys do I just unbolt the bottom of the column in the engine compartment to remove it? There's 2 bolts so I want to make sure. Also, how do I get the black plastic cover off the column housing once it's out? Theres no visible external screws. (Maybe on the inside? Snap tabs?) :?

    Tnx

There should be some kind of bracket holding the column to the bottom of the dash. if not it would not stay p right. But you remove that bracker or bolts and then that bolt holding the ujoint in place. disconnect wiring and it should pull out

The bolt above the ujoint looks tobe a spacer bracket to keep the steering shaft from being pulled up throguh the columnn. i have one on my column becaue it would pull out. disconect the ujpoint and it should pull up. you might have to twist a bit depending on how tight the bottom firewall gasket is. sometimes there is a clamp of sometype holding the bottom to the firewall, make sure there isn not one there
