Thinking of making a windjammer for the jeep. I have some canvas from an old tent camping trailer to use. I would like to have a plastic window in it. Can you buy heavy plastic that is used in soft tops? Can it be sewn into the canvas?
Has anyone here made their own? Got pics of a home made one or even an after market on that is being used on a later Jeep? Looking for Ideas. Thinking of velcro to attach to rollbar. How should it attach to the floor......Snaps?

    Thanks

I've been thinking about the same thing. Canvas is pretty cheap, and the plastic window stuff probably is too. Maybe a boating supply place?

I'd be interested in this as well. Since the Jeep is my main DD during the summer, I do alot of wiping of the windshield because I only run a bikini top. A windjammer would fix that problem ;)

I'm thinking of a piece of canvas with straps sewn onto it. The straps would go around the rollbar and velcro onto the backside (inside) of the windjammer. Snaps along the bottom and a window in the middle would complete the package. Doesn't sound too hard....

I used a old 4x8 sheet of hockey rink plexisglass 1/2 thick cut to fit inside the rollbar straped in with velcro straps works well.

The roll cage frame ties are causing me some issues on how I am going to secure the bottom of the jammer.

Made mine out of an old Bikini top. Wifey did some sewing for me. I bought a grommet kit at the local hardware store. I tie it to the roll cage with parachute cord. Window is a piece of plexiglass with and aluminum frame pop riveted through the fabric. Yea, it's pretty butch but I guess it will the water off the wndshield. I made it late one night, hoping to keep some wind off us on the next morning on the way to Rausch Creek. Just trying to keep warm. Didn't werk real well as a " wind" jammer. We was cold.

Hudsonhawk has a good start. I would think a bulkhead from the floor up would help with attachment and keep the beer cans from blowing into the cab area underfoot.
