Is there an easy way for holding the t/o bearing fork inplace while installing the tranny/bell housing until I get the bell crank on? So everything doesn't drop inside as I mount the bell housing.

    Thanks,

The throwout bearing return spring has always held everything in place for me.

There is nothing holding the fork inplace against the pivot ball if the cable isn't attached with tension on it. I was thinking of tightening a small "C" clamp on the cable against the bell housing at the outside of the cable hole but I'm not sure if this is the best way to hold it. I'm really afraid of dropping the fork inside after mounting everything.

seems I took the inspection cover off the top of the bell and held it thru the opening while sliding it all together; think I had a helper
BTDT on dropping it to the bottom, had to fish it out thru the opening
you might try a little real heavy grease in the pivot dimple to help hold it; not too much though, don't want it melting on the clutch

I wrestled with the t-90/18 for a couple of hours last night and it beat me. Trying to move it into the pilot bushing. When I took the tranny out the old pilot bushing just fell on the floor.

I remember a while back, I asked a question about the fit-all clutch alignment tool a somebody said, "good luck". Is this normally a though fit? I looks like I have to realign the disk again.

    Thanks

Ok I give. How did the pilot bushing get out past the clutch? And how did the disk slip and get out of alignment? PP should have held the disk tight.

p/bushing should be a tight fit into the crank
use an old input shaft or alignment tool to help align the disc
    just slap it right in
    easy...........

    :D

My wife came out to the garage last night and thought I was trying to do the dirty to that thing.

I used the alignment tool the best I could and I got the splines to line up but the little nubin wouldn't go into the bushing. Guess I'll pull the bell housing and new clutch to make sure the input shaft fits the bushing. I had bought an old input shaft someone was selling on the 2A Page. Sent the money 3 weeks ago but it never came. I don't care about the money but I sure wish I had that old input shaft.

The new bushing fit nice 'n tight into the flywheel. I wouldn't want to pull it out now.

Now I know why you were asking about the release fork. I bolt the bellhousing to the tranny and the throwout bearing return spring holds everything nice and snug. I assume you're talking 134?

Yup, thats the way I have it. I mentioned taking the bellhousing off so I could see what I'm doing for just fitting it up. You're right though, everything did just stay in place. Oh yeah, it 's the L-134.

    Thanks,
