Electric fuel pump

    What pressure Electric fuel pump does a stock F head need? I think i am choking my carb out with too much gas...could i run a regulator with the one i have?

    I ran the reg just before the carb. would try 2#'s to start with.

    mine has'em in the "performance" section. if not should be able to order one. i have the Mr. Gasket one, think it goes from 1-8#'s in 1/2# steps.

    you sat 2# should do? i think the fuel pump is like 5# it was the lowest they had. lol

    Not an F134 expert, but I think the Solex needs 2psi, though the original YF should handle 5psi fine. The mechanical pump on a 232/258 makes 4-5psi nominally, and uses the same carburetor.

    here is what it is doing.

    it runs/idles fine till it warms up then when idling it drops to almost dead then pics back up. even if i give it gas it does it. I changed the coil and that kept it from dying but it still idles like that. when going up hill it doesn't seem to do it though. so i thought it was either vapor lock(how would i fix that?) or flooding out when idling.

    sounds like NOT enough pressure, or bad power valve in carb.

    is there a way to test each of those? the pump is older...but it does pump fuel. Does bad power valve= new carb?
