Heads (hardened seats and new valves, no guide inserts) @ 155,000. Rod bearings and oil pump kit at ~230k ('polished' the crank in the block w/ emory cloth, -.001 bearings). Pertronix recently. Water pumps every other year or so. Never have had to change the fuel pump though. I guess that's next!

BTW - Doubtful it will make 300K. Needs some work soon :(

Congratulations. Pretty good for a 35yo car.

D1ck Datson writes about the million mile engine in his books. His feeling was that, for a steel crank engine, you could expect 3 overbores with new rings and new rod bearings half way between each overbore... overbore at 250, 500, 750, and rering at 150, 400, 650 and 900. Of course, he was writing in the context of Studebakers and street miles. With an iron crank engine (like the V6), you'll need a new crank eventually. Plus a Jeep suffers a lot more from rust and metal fatigue; still, 500K does not seem unreasonable.
