    Hi,
Does anyone know a good source for some new ( or not so used) military tires and wheels 7.00 X 16 or similar size at a decent price? I know this has been dicussed before but I couldn't come up with anything.

4 Wheel Drive Hardware and Quadratec both sell the wheels $119.95 Each. I believe there was a company here in ohio that was selling the tires but I can't recall the manufacture. I always wondered why you see the jeeps in WWII movies going through 2 feet of mudd with no problem and why everyone decides to use 10" wide rims to go mudding. :?

After wheeling in a bone-stock '46 -2A, I wonder why people do a lot of the things they do to these Jeeps. That thing would go just about anywhere.

I,m in eastern PA. That's what I'm looking for some cheap used ones I can clean up a little and use. I bet they work great especially with chains. These monster truck tires I see are way to wide, they must push mud and snow like a snow plow. email me old man

From what I gather (NOT a mudrunner here), there are two philosophies for mud tires...stay on top/float with wide tires, or cut through and try to find a more solid bottom with tall/skinny tires.

Huh?....sounds good to me, I wonder what works best? I know they say that skinnier tires work better in the snow and on ice for cars, something about more weight per square inch on the tread pattern? I would imagine it works the same for jeeps. Maybe thats why the government went with the skinnies. :flag:
