Well my carb turns green inside its the same rochester 2g. I have pulled it apart so many times and dunked it in carb cleaner I can do it my sleep! And of course it runs fine for a while and then it turns green. I havent run the tank out yet and the tank was dry when I brought it home from the desert. I have put some B12 Chemtool in it to try and help clean it out. But that doesnt seem to matter much. Next step I guess is to dump tank and pull it and flush the tank somehow.Any suggestion on flushing the tank. Just wondering what might turn this thing green and tacky. And how do I get it to stop :(

This is easy. Get the copper tubing out of your fuel system!

No copper lines either steel or plastic all stock. Locking gas cap also so almost rules out pennys being dropped in tank and its as if its sticky like maybe sugar? But again locking gas cap so Im confused.

So much for the quick easy solution. Green is copper, in my thinking. So the tank is full of some strange substance. Plus the filter isn't stopping it. Maybe a "slosh sealer" is in there and going bad? I dunno.

Doubtful but I dont know, had jeep for 7 years and never had any problems like this. But it sat for 1 to 2 years and there are some real A## H#### at this campground where it was stored. So I was leaning towards some practical joke gone awry.

If it's set up Jim then I would consider that the fuel has had time to turn to "varnish" in the tank. I'd drain it take it out and clean it out.

I've used chemtool and even muratic acid but that was when I was coating the inside of the tank with something called Kreme.

You could try Seafoam. They claim it cleans fuel systems. I just used it on my cj and was very impressed with the results. In less than a 0.5 hr it cleared a sticky lifter after being added to the crankcase.

I use Seafoam in my diesel and my Jeep because it sets a lot. It might work but my experience is that I have to let the chemtool set for a while for it to start losinening things up, I don't know if the seafoam would do the same thing.
