67 CJ5 guages

    I have replaced the fuel guage on the cluster, but it seams to me like it needs a ground, also the voltage seems to high, any advise?

    Is there a regulator in there? I think mine uses a little silver can that reduces the voltage to about 5 or so. With that in mind, hang a voltmeter on the input side of gauge. It should "pulse" if it doesn't seem right I have used a 7805 chip successfully in the past.
