Back up lights?

Hello to all-

I am new to this forum. I am nearly finished with resurecting a '63 CJ5. I am nearing the point of rewiring the Jeep and was wondering if the '63 had back up lights? The wiring harness from the PO was really hacked up so it's hard to tell. The PO had installed trailer lights (which had back up lights) on the back of the Jeep. I have no idea if they worked since the Jeep was in many parts when I took ownership. I have looked over the tranny and found no indication of a back up switch.

Sorry I'm not much help on the back up light question. But welcome to the board.

I have the T-14A Tranny. The back-up switch is at the rear of the top gasket. I just screws into the housing. I think other model do the same. I am sure others here can help.

What tranny do you have?

 

I got a '56, no back up lights here. Welcome to the forum

 

I have a 64.... no backup lights either.

 

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think it had back up lights. The tranny is a T-90. Hopefully I will be painting by Wed. and will post some pics.
