Is the 225 oddfire from a 1964 Buick car the same as in my 1968 cj? I found the engine for cheap and just want confirmation everything from the 64 engine will interchange with my 68 engine.

someone help me here.....Buick also made a 198 V6 in the early 60's. Don't know if this is what your looking at and if there are compatiability issues.

The 198 was not in production by 1964, it was only produced in 1962/1963.

All the Buick 225's were the same, including the flywheel if it has one.

Mike, you sure about the flywheel? I thought the car flywheels were lighter. Maybe that's just the 231.

Tim I have seen (2) 225 v6's out of cars now and they both had the heavy flywheel, I think Buick did it to tone down the oddfire shake, I'd bet that the 231 oddfire has the heavy flywheel also.
According to Novak the main difference from car 225's and Jeep 225's is the flywheel being drilled for the 10 1/2" clutch versus the cars 9 1/2" clutch.

Mcruff is correct - based on the 2 car 225's I have worked with and one of those is currently in my shop.
