Positraction is a limited slip, it uses cones , disks or clutches to distribute power to both wheels of the axle, however they are not 100% as there is slippage built in and they wear out due to the built in slippage. A true locker actually mechanically locks one wheel to the other while driving in a straight line or when sensing one wheel has lost traction it sends power to the wheel that has traction. It will disengage when turn cormers and then re engage when it has straightened out.
