    Spark Plugs w/ 225 HEI???

I read in previous articles some were running a .45 gap with the stock plugs. I was reading up on the stock 225 Dauntless calls for an Autolite 85 w/ .35 gap. I can understand that with points but I have recently performed the HEI conversion w/ an oddfire HEI distributor, stock GM nothing aftermarket. I was looking for a cap and rotor and found that the 1975 Buick Regal 231 was an oddfire so I am going to buy the cap, rotor etc. for that,,,,,now the spark plugs call for an Autolite number 847 w/ a .60 gap for the 231. Has anyone tried to run a plug for a 231 w/ a .60 gap??? I'm just looking for the proper plug with the proper gap without any electrode crashing concerns with my fairly stock except for the 4 barrel intake, cam, and HEI dist. 225. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. :)

when I tried my HEI, I just re-gapped the Champions to .045 as recommended
seemed to work well (the HEI, that's another story)
if you change to the plugs you are asking about, watch the reach of the plug; you don't want it to go farther into the combustion chamber; damage could occur.
compare them to your old ones before you buy

Seems enough people have run the standard plugs with a little wider gap (.45, myself included) that I would just stick with them. The last set of plugs I put in were BOSCH-SUPER #7516. The parts guy recommended against running platinum plugs in an old cast/carb'ed engine....something about heat range...

stock plugs are fine, just gap to .40/.45. I put HEI on my 68 two years ago and it worked great but... recently had to change dist. the lower contact pickups went out, dont know why. luckily the 75-76 buick dist. are plentyfull and relitively cheap.
