I just ordered the 4 wheel drive hardware wire harness they have for CJ's. Has anybody used one? If so any helpful sugestions on the installation.
I got tired of trying to get 40 year old stuff to work so I also ordered front running lights and the new style rear lights.
Do you ever get the idea we could buy a brand new wrangler for what we put in these classics?

Maybe not BRAND new, but a nice recently used one for sure.

But it wouldn't be NEARLY as cool.

Real jeeps are built (or rebuilt), and not bought. If you do damn near all the work on the thing, then you have a pretty good idea what/why/how it all works. If you march onto the lot, and buy the pretty red one, then what? You sail off into the wild blue yonder and put dents, dings and scratches in you purty new jeep? What if it breaks down?

I prefer the simpler stuff, but I have seen the newer stuff wheel just fine. Mentioning wire harness, I created my own.

yeh every time I add up how much I have spent. I could get a nice wrangler that even runs. I have been through most parts of a wrangler at some time or anyother so I guess I could say I have done a frame off, they are fairly simple. At least I find wireing simple and the concept of carbs; points and other stuff like that complex, it is all what you are used to.
