I'm new to the Jeep world and have just bought a 1967 CJ-5. Has the v6 and 3" lift. Are there any modifications to the frame or anywhere that need to be made before doing some light rock crawling and 4 wheeling? Thanks, Jeff

not if the frame is in good shape. i would inspect for any cracks before taking it out, and go easy on it for awhile until you figure out everything that needs work. what kind of lift does it have? if it's all shackle i would suggest changing them back close to stock height before taking it on any rocks.

    we need pics!

    Howdy from W. MI...

X2 what Chris said...if the mods are well-done you should be good to go, just standard "check all fluid levels" in engine, tranny, tcase and difs, and spend some time underneath checking every bolt in sight (special attention to driveshaft bolts, spring plates, tranny mounts, motor mounts and lockout bolts, etc.)

Yeah and remember it is a 1967.. not your buddies YJ so take it kinda easy.. they do have a bad habit of cracking frasmes if you twist the axles up a lot in the rocks so keep an eye out around the spring and shock mount areas... oh and if you still have manual sterring in the rocks watch your fingers...
