I decided to scrap my original frame and plan to pull the motor trans and transfer case together since the body is off.

I usually lift v8's and just bolt the 4 plates of a load equalizer bar to the corners of the intake manifold using the manifold bolts. Even with a big block and heavy trans that seems to be fairly easy to ballance.

    How about the F134 ?

I assumed since it was designed for the government there would be factory lift points. The 4cyl may be a little small for the load equalizer.

What do you guys like to use.

Btw how much does an f134, t90 and transfer case weigh? Again not a big issue, its a 6000lb lift, just currious for future storage issues. IE can I bring it into the basement through the storm door opening, with out cursing and hurting myself or the motor.
(i do plan to use pullies and equipment, not the 123 lift method of course)
My gues so far based on absolutely no facts is around 750lbs fully dressed. Am I close?

    Thanks.

Oh thanks for the storge tips question as well.

the motor is heavy. I know the books say something like 400some lbs. but when I went to scrap my block the scrap yard said closer to 750lbs without the head or acessories.

750lbs should be in the ballpark, possibly even high. We pulled mine with the lift on the 1000lbs setting and absolutely no problems.

As for the method of lifting, I don't have any good pics unfortunately but we wrapped a chain around the transmission/transfer case area, up to the lift, and then bolted it to a bracket on the front of the engine. Unfortunately that bracket was a PO addition for the hydraulic pump for the plow, so you won't be able to do the same....
